Name: Officially, Logan's name is James. But will be referred to as Logan.
Canon Point: Just after having the metal, adamantium, bonded to his skeleton. While in the tank, Logan overhears Colonel William Stryker make plans to take his DNA and erase his memories. Personality:

Logan is an extremely independent man and doesn't like the idea of people trying to get too close. He likes dealing with his problems himself. So, no, he usually doesn't want your help, even if he may need it. Just get the hell out of his way, before he equates you with the problem. He doesn't care much for authority and will disobey orders if he's so inclined. He's tough, rather gritty, and his no nonsense attitude doesn't help to endear him to people. Logan likes to pretend he doesn't have any sentimentality toward anyone or anything. Which isn't always true. There are people who have managed to worm their way into Logan's heart and while he doesn't always treat them in the best way, they know when he considers them a friend. Earning Logan's friendship isn't exactly easy, however. He's standoffish and can be quite blunt with people. He keeps his emotions and thoughts pretty close to the vest. They are his business and no one else's. So don't go prying where you're not wanted.

That does not mean Logan is without any kind of feeling. Once provoked, he can easily be consumed by the beast his body has mutated to imitate. He can attack wildly, with untamed aggression, and without any thought to the consequences. He can (and has) entered a berserk state that all but subverts the placid human he had once been. Someone close to Logan can remind him that he is not an animal and that seems to bring him out of his rampage. But they've got to be someone pretty special. Thankfully, he is not easily angered or riled and will usually try to ignore things that could potentially make him angry. He is even willing to warn people when they are pushing their luck. Even if what he says may actually ignite a situation instead of defusing it. What a guy.

Loyalty is something he feels just as fiercely as the aggression. His devotion to Victor is testament to that. He stood by his brother's side and faced down a firing squad, even when Victor was clearly in the wrong. However, Logan isn't blind about whom he gives h is loyalty to. While unwavering, it is not absolute. When it was clear Victor was getting sadistic, Logan stepped in to let his brother know enough was enough. They hadn't signed up to be murderers. When Victor showed no signs of remorse or willingness to change? Well Logan walked away and didn't look back. His relationship with Victor got complicated after that. Logan still cared what happened to him, even though he really wanted nothing more to do with him.

Despite whatever he may tell you, Logan still seems apt to help people in need. He stopped members of his old squad from slaughtering an entire village of people, even though they were under direct orders to do so from Colonel Stryker himself. He freed all of the mutants Stryker had captured, even though he was only looking for one. Killing people for no reason wasn't his style and he didn't want to be apart of it. This all stems from Logan's personal sense of honor. If there's no reason to do it, then he won't. However, don't mistake this for Logan being unwilling to kill. Logan is one of the few X-Men willing to put an end to an adversary permanently. But, when it's enough, it's enough.

Logan is most definitely not an idealist; As far as he is concerned, mutant problems are not his problems. So you're not going to see him rallying for mutant rights or anything like that. He had become a lumberjack and lived in a cabin in the woods. He only wanted to live a, quiet, domestic life with the woman he loved. But that was interrupted when his brother made a rather dramatic return. He tried his best not to let his past touch his new life, but he couldn't escape. And now she was dead.

Stryker mentions that nothing motivates the men in Logan's family like revenge. And that ain't nothin' but the gospel truth. It was why Stryker tricked him into believing Kayla was dead. He knew Logan would go after Victor. He knew Victor would win. And he knew Logan would do anything to make Victor pay. Including allowing Stryker to experiment on him. That was the plan and Logan took the bait. But it wasn't necessarily a boon for Stryker. Because now, not only was Logan gunning for Victor, Stryker was on his shit list too. And Logan wasn't going to rest until both of them were dead. While he's holding a grudge, Logan can become very one track minded: find and kill his target. Everything else goes by the wayside until his objective's been accomplished.

Considering Logan's canon point, his grudge against Victor and Stryker will be at its highest point, and being removed from the situation before he's had a chance to resolve things will simply not sit well with him. His relationship with Victor is at its most volatile point. Logan wants him dead. Period. But Logan wants to be the one to do it, so if someone else attacks Victor, Logan will definitely jump to his brother's defence, even if that means they will be at odds again moments later. Logan doesn't like leaving loose ends, so this will be an extremely sore point for him.

Skills | Powers:

Regenative Healing Factor: This ability allows him to recover from virtually any wound much faster and more extensively than a normal human in a matter of minutes. This ability also negates the long term effects of smoking, drinking, and makes him immune to virtually any earth disease or illness. It also keeps his adamantium skeleton from poisoning him completely. It would take extremely large doses of a harmful substance to have a lasting effect on him. Along with these benefits, it also significantly slows down the effect of aging. Logan is well into his 100s, but barely looks a day over 35. His healing ability also seems capable of healing psychological wounds, by suppressing the memories and/or causing amnesia.

Superhuman senses: Logan's senses are extremely acute. He can see great distances and in near total darkness with perfect clarity. His hearing is similar in that he can hear certain things regular humans cannot and can make out sounds at great distances with enough concentration. He has a heightened sense of smell and is able to detect people/Victor/animals/furbies by scent. He's also clearly very strong, since he is still able to carry himself after having metal bonded to his skeleton. He also seems immune to the effects of hypnotic suggestion and telepathic manipulation.

Speed/Endurance/Reflexes/Agility: Thanks to his healing ability, Logan is able to push his muscles beyond their natural limits without injury. He has extremely high endurance, able to sustain himself for days without resting. His balance and agility are beyond an ordinary human's. Using his acute senses, Logan's reflexes are enhanced and he is able to dodge most projectiles, even at point blank range.

Adamantium skeleton: Because of the adamantium bonded to his skeleton, there is a little extra weight behind his punches. He also has three bone claws that are about 1 foot long in each of his forearms that protrude from his hands when he extends them. Because of the adamantium, these claws are extremely sharp and are pretty much indestructible. His skin bleeds every time he extends his claws but his healing factor stops it immediately. Doesn't mean he doesn't feel the pain though. These claws can cut completely through most woods, metals, and stone, depending on the thickness and the amount of effort he exerts. He cannot, however, cut through adamantium.

First Person Sample:

[Logan isn't the best of places right now. His priority? Gutting Victor like a fish. He needed to make his brother pay for what he did to Kayla. And he can't do that here.]

I don't give a damn who you think you are. Send me back. Now.

[And when you phrase it that way, I can imagine everyone will be ready to help.]

Third Person Sample:

Logan's life was never perfect. And you know what? He never asked for perfection. Just normalcy. After decades of killing people and reigning in Victor, being normal would do his body good.

That's why Kayla was a miracle.

Sometimes she made him breakfast in bed. Sometimes she wrote him silly notes and left them in his lunch pail. And sometimes she laughed at his stupid jokes even though he knew they weren't that funny. She gave his life flavor and color and purpose, beyond someone's weapon for war. He wasn't an animal and Kayla helped him remember that.

He was the chain and she was the anchor, holding their lives in place after Stryker tried to capsize him into a shark's tank. She was the moon and he was her Wolverine.

This wasn't perfect. But what was? Besides, Logan had never asked for perfection. All he wanted was to be happy. Kayla had given him that in spades.

Now she was gone.

He didn't want to believe it, when he saw her lying there covered in blood. He didn't want to think that the anchored had been severed from the chain. Maybe that's why he ignored that niggling in the back of his skull that something just wasn't quite right.

Logan touched her neck gingerly, brushed her hair from her closed eyes and tried to ignore the tremor in his hands, the hitch in his breathing, the knot that coiled tightly around his stomach. She was his miracle and now she had been taken away. He lifted her up, pressed her close to his chest, and tried to will her eyes to open.

When they did not, Logan felt a sickness in his belly. He wanted to cry. But there were no tears to shed and all he could do was scream.
